The history of Durango Transfer goes back to the horse and buggy days, where "Durango Transfer and Livery" was first located on Main Avenue. The business has evolved from primarily a commodities hauler - hauling coal, produce and lumber - to a local, statewide, national, and international shipper as an agent for Atlas Van Lines. We also handle, store, deliver and set up new furniture and fixtures for various projects, as well as sensitive electronic equipment.
Ron and Jeanie Lephart purchased Durango Transfer in May, 1984 after being Professional Van Operators for United Van Lines for 6 years. Jeanie Lephart is the President and principal officer and the primary moving consultant. Ron is a Professional Van Operator for Atlas Van Lines and consultant to Durango Transfer. They both have experience in almost every aspect of the moving business, behind the scenes and as drivers. Over the years, the whole family grew up and was involved in the business, from their son, Jamey, becoming a driver and warehouse manager, to their daughter, Kelly, becoming the General Manager for several years. Even though they have moved on, it has remained "our family moving your family" because our employees are all extended family.
Durango Transfer is the only moving company in the Four Corners area that has a secure, palletized warehouse specifically constructed to store household goods. Ron and Jeanie are personally involved in many of the moves, and take every move personally to insure that each customer gets the quality and friendly service they deserve.
Jeanie and Ron Lephart are invested and involved in the community of Durango and the Four Corners area. They have lived, worked and played in Durango for over 33 years.
